You are invited to join us for a Build Without Burnout Workshop on Becoming Invincible: Purpose and Meaning, with Kelby Kupersmid, Wellness and Burnout Prevention Coach at Embarc Collective, on Thursday, December 7, from 12-1PM over Zoom.

Humans are capable of doing just about anything when we are aligned to purpose and meaning. Getting clear on your “why” is supportive of creating a burnout-proof mindset because, ultimately, burnout is not about working too many hours or being too stressed; rather, it’s a crisis of meaning and integration. We’ll pull together the year by reflecting on why we build in the first place.

Walk away with: Your personal mission statement, along with a sense of what working wholeheartedly means and why it makes you invincible to the mal-effects of burnout.

Revenue-Based Financing with Lowery Thomas of Lighter Capital

You are invited to a CEO Strategy Session on Revenue-Based Financing with Lowery Thomas, Investment Director at Lighter Capital. This session will take place on Thursday, May 12 from 10AM-11AM ET via Zoom.

What this session will cover: Depending on the company, venture capital or equity-based funding might not be the most effective and impactful way for a company to raise. Revenue-Based Financing has become a popular alternative that enables founders with non-dilutive capital.

Revenue-based financing is a way that companies can raise capital by pledging a percentage of future ongoing revenues in exchange for money invested. A portion of revenues will be paid to investors at a pre-established percentage until a certain multiple of the original investment has been repaid.

During this session, Lowery will share the basics of Revenue-Based Financing, including how to

  • Determine if it’s a viable (and smart) option for your company
  • Evaluate the right loan value, terms, and provider
  • Understand the advantages, tradeoffs, and best practices to follow

Carta Equity 101

One of the first steps in forming a startup should undoubtedly be creating your cap table. Sounds simple, but cap tables can get complicated quickly. And without a good one, it’s far too easy to make bad equity decisions when raising money and hiring.

In the Equity 101 presentation, Carta will walk you through a number of good and not-so-great examples, the fundamentals and framework to building an impressive cap table. Carta’s experts will share how a well-managed cap table can help you determine, negotiate, and track ownership stakes as your company grows.

What you’ll learn:

  • How to tell an investable startup story through your cap table
  • What to include, and what’s best left out
  • How to use your cap table to make smart fundraising and hiring decisions
  • How founders should be thinking about cap tables in today’s climate
  • The most common cap table mistakes, the effects, and how to avoid them
